Communications

Work the shared fax and email inbox, compose outbound messages with attachments, and review sent items.

Overview

Communications gives your organization one queue for faxes and emails. The Inbox shows incoming items with unread and critical counts, Compose sends outbound messages, and Sent Items keeps the history.

Working the inbox

    Triage new arrivals

    Critical items are flagged and counted separately — handle those first.

    Link to the patient

    Attach an incoming document to the right patient record; it appears on their timeline immediately.

    Route or respond

    Reply, forward, or hand the item to the workflow it belongs to — a records request response, a referral confirmation.

Documents that answer an open request in Records & Referrals complete that request when linked — one triage action closes both loops.

Sending messages

Compose supports fax and email with attachments up to 10MB in standard document formats. Sending configuration (fax provider, email identity) lives in organization Settings. Everything sent is recorded in Sent Items with its recipient, sender, and delivery status.
