Records & Referrals

Create request templates, send record and referral requests by fax or email, and track them to completion.

Overview

Medical Records and Referrals are two sides of the same workflow: a template-driven request sent to a facility, tracked until it's fulfilled. Medical record requests retrieve documentation from other providers; referral requests send patients to specialists with the context they need.

Templates first

Build templates under Medical Records → Templates and Referrals → Templates. A template defines the request document; patient fields (name, date of birth, member ID) fill in automatically at send time. Most organizations need only a handful of templates.

Sending a request

    Choose New Request

    Pick the template and the patient. The request document assembles itself.

    Pick the facility

    Select from your Facilities & Providers directory — fax number or email comes with it.

    Send

    Delivery goes out by fax or email through the platform and is logged on the patient timeline.

    Track under Requests

    Every request has a status; open ones stay visible until documents come back.

Returned faxes arrive in the Communications inbox — link them to the patient and the request is complete, with the document attached to the record.

Facilities & Providers is the shared address book behind this module: hospitals, specialist offices, and their fax numbers and emails. Keep it current and every request addresses itself.
